Boarding and Travelling with P&O Ferries

The ferry terminal in Dover is very easy to access. It is just 1 mile outside Dover town centre and can be reached from both the M2 and M 20 motorway. When approaching Dover follow the signs for the ferry terminal. When you enter the port, stay on the left side and join the “Vehicles with Reservations” lane in order to fin the check-in booths.

Getting on and off the ferries couldn’t be easier. Your ferry leaves from Dover's Eastern Docks, which are easily accessible by road, rail and shuttle bus. If you have a car you should check in at least 30 minutes before departure and 45 minutes as a foot passenger.

Foot Passengers

If you are travelling by train, you should get to Dover Priory, circa 1.5 miles away from the port. From London Victoria or Charing Cross it will take you around 2 hours to get there. A regular foot passenger shuttle bus is provided to get you safely to the ferry. The bus operates between 7 in the morning and 8 in the evening and costs just £2.
